I am a Senior Consultant in the Inclusive Growth and Resilience team, having joined Triple Line in January 2019. I also happen to have been Triple Line’s first ever intern back in 2011! It was a wonderful introduction to the world of international consulting where I was given great opportunities and treated like a full team member - a rare experience for interns back then.
From there I moved on to the European Commission, IFAD, a Masters degree in Agricultural Economics in Berlin, a GIZ project in Peru and a two-year fellowship at the Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation in Addis Ababa. What brought me back to Triple Line was the chance to be UK-based with the freedom to travel extensively and work on projects that would allow me to develop new skills.
That’s exactly what I got. I’ve worked on agricultural development and rural finance projects all over East Africa - and am looking forward to a six-month secondment in Ethiopia, COVID-19 permitting. I’ve broadened my skills in everything from business development and project management to the principles of market system development and the analysis of systemic impact. But most of all, I’ve had the pleasure of working with experienced, considerate and humane colleagues whom I both respect and like as people. That counts for a lot - particularly in the midst of a global pandemic and eternal uncertainty.
