Dr Alyson Brody has over 20 years’ experience of supporting gender and social inclusion processes, with a focus on promoting organisational learning and providing evidence-based support to a diverse range of actors.
Alyson has a track record of writing and editing ground-breaking policy-oriented publications, online resources and training materials aimed at supporting policymakers and practitioners to integrate gender equality and social inclusion across their work. The former head of BRIDGE, a globally respected gender and development research programme based at the Institute of Development Studies, Alyson provided strategic leadership for the team, wrote successful funding bids and built relationships with donors and other high-level clients. Between 2016 and 2023 she ran a successful gender and social inclusion consultancy. Over the course of her career, Alyson has undertaken assignments for multiple bilateral, multilateral and non-governmental organisations. She has also been employed by Leeds University as a post-doctoral researcher. She is the author of numerous high-profile publications, including Country Gender Assessments, policy briefs, gender strategies, book and academic journal articles, BRIDGE Cutting Edge reports, and online content.
