I joined Triple Line originally as a Senior Consultant in the Evidence, Policy, Analysis and Learning team. I later transitioned to the Inclusive Growth and Resilience team, building on my previous background in urban disaster risk reduction and management. Since, I’ve worked in a technical capacity on interesting assignments, like our pioneering work in South Sudan with the World Bank employing fit-for purpose methods to analyse urban hazards and risks in order to provide investment options for urban disaster risk reduction in Juba, Aweil and Wao. Working with our counterparts at HKV we produced this storyboard of the project: (insert to storyboard).
I’ve had the opportunity to take on responsibilities related to external engagement and foster cross-learning between teams and projects. With the support of the company, I enrolled in a sustainable cooling short course at Oxford University, which allowed me to further develop my technical expertise in urban heat. Throughout my time at Triple Line, I’ve felt encouraged to pursue training and educational opportunities in order to develop a profile that is both additive and complimentary to my team’s current DRR expertise. In my experience, Triple Line actively looks to align employee motivation with the evolution of its strategies and portfolio. When I’ve identified opportunities to improve internal processes, I’ve been empowered to take ownership of driving those changes—something that’s made the company feel adaptive and responsive, both in terms of staff insights and to shifting political priorities. That support has come from colleagues at all levels, right up to the COO.
