Ashok is an economist with experience in urban economics and environmental sustainability consulting.
Ashok has four years’ experience conducing rigorous economic analysis and advising on sustainability strategy. He works at the intersection of urban planning and sustainable development.
Before joining Triple Line he worked at McKinsey & Company and Vivid Economics on projects spanning a range of sustainability and infrastructure topics. These included analysing the socio-economic impacts of infrastructure projects using quantitative spatial models (QSM), creating fiscal disaster risk management tools, advising on strategy for TBS and NBS carbon removal players, and assessing national net-zero transition plans.
Before that he worked in academic research at the Center for Economic Performance in the London School of Economics. He supported several projects in applied urban economics using QSMs and high-quality microdata. He has further experience of journalism as a reporter for the Myanmar Times in Yangon, agricultural trade policy in the UK’s Department for Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), and healthcare development assistance at the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).
Ashok holds an MSc in Economics from the Barcelona School of Economics and a BSc in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) from the University of Warwick during which he spent a year on exchange at Sciences Po Paris specialising in economics and urban studies.
