Nway is an experienced international development professional. She is the programme management specialist for the Cities and Infrastructure for Growth (CIG) Myanmar programme.
Nway Nway brings over 10 years of experience working on development assistance programmes in Myanmar and Thailand. She has wide ranging skills and expertise, including project/programme management and financial management as well as thematic skills in research, monitoring and evaluation.
She has worked inas the former DFID Burma/Myanmar as a Programme Manager with leadership role in project cycle management and grants/portfolio delivery in the assigned programmes; Inclusive Growth Team and programme portfolio management and programme management compliance across the office. In this role she has overall responsibility for programme cycle management for DFID’s programmes on City Infrastructure and Growth (around £15-20 million over five years) and Accelerated Reform Facility (£15 million over five years). She also was responsible for team financial forecasting, risk assessment and mitigation, communications, and adherence of programme management to DFID’s global guidelines.
All past programmes she has worked on have focussed on social development and economic growth, allowing Nway Nway to gain a good understanding of issues, strategies and approaches to programming in these sectors. Nway Nway brings proven abilities to coordinate and backstop work plans, and to build and manage partnerships with government, NGO and private sector actors. These skills are complemented by a strong academic and research background in private sector management and development (MBA in International Business/ Bachelor of Economics).
